In this episode, James and Matt discuss how the debate over reasonable COVID response measures in the United States became drawn along stark political lines. They cover the polarizing effect of President Trump, early errors by public health officials, the conflicting messages of political leaders, and the role of social media in stifling debate and fostering distrust.
They go on to discuss where the battle lines are today between the two polarized sides of the COVID response debate, including mandates on mask wearing, vaccinations, and the singular focus by many on the left upon COVID at the exclusion of all other issues.
